Kazanskaya"
This happened in 1579. The nine-year girl,
the daughter of archer, who lived in Kazan, saw once in the sleep
holiest Mother of God and learned from it, that under the smouldering
ruins of the burnt house is found the wonder-working icon, which must be
dug up. No one believed the story of girl, but sleep was repeated again
and again, and then Matrena itself started to dig out smouldering ruins
and she actually found finding. It is remarkable, that the first priest,
who accepted sacred thing from the hands of child, was future patriarch
[Moskovskiy] [Ermogen], one of the most renowned saints of the Russian
Orthodox Church. Soon icon appeared the first miracles (healings. Then
on the spot its finding was elevated monastery (in it, by the way,
Matrena it cut then in nun). In XVII v. the copy for Moscow was copied
from the wonder-working Kazan' icon, and this means twice saved the
capital from the enemies and granted victory to Russians. There are
copies of Kazan' icon in Petersburg and some other cities. During this
day are honored lists from the Kazan' icon, existing in Moscow, Kazan
and Petersburg, and also - Yaroslavl, Vyaznikov, [Nizhnelomovskiy],
Tobol'sk, [Kaplunovskiy], Tambovo, [Vysochinovskiy], [Vyshenskiy], [Bogorodsko]-
Ufa.
